Transcriptome of the synganglion in adult ticks, Ixodes ricinus. CFW

We sequenced the transcriptome of synganglions of ticks, representing the central nervous system, in adults of the species Ixodes ricinus, to help gene discovery of genes specific to this tissue. Ticks were collected in the field, either from the vegetation -unfed adults, females or males- or on roe deers that were captured and released -feeding females. Collection sites were in North-Western France, in 2017. The synganglion was dissected, RNA was extracted and cDNAs were sequenced on an Illumina 3000 platform. The samples comprised unfed females (n=3 biological replicates, pools of 25 synganglions), unfed males (n=2 biological replicates, pools of 25 and 50 synganglions respectively), and half-engorged (fed) females (n=3 biological replicates, pools of 25 synganglions).
