Naturhistorisches Museum Mainz, Schmetterlingssammlung Rodenkirchen

In November 2014, the Mainz Natural History Museum obtained the butterfly collection of Jochen Rodenkirchen from the Naturparkzentrum Teufelsschlucht, where the collection was housed for several years. The collection contains Macrolepidoptera from Germany, with a focus on the Eifel Mountains of Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia. Minor parts of the collection are from Bavaria. The 4500 published records of this collection represent approximately 2/3 of the total material.
