Metadata associated to soil and roots sampling campaign in managed and old growth beech forests in Slovenia, Italy and Croatia (9 forests, 45 samples). The metadata table contains GPS coordinates, sylvicultural system, climatic data and soil chemistry. The table on morphotypisation contains records of morphotype assignment of ectomycorrhizal fungi from the root tips, including GenBank acession numbers (where available), and closest taxonomy assignment.
