资源简介:
Surveying at the Vestfold Hills for the Australian Antarctic Division's Year Round Aviation Access Project 5097 was carried out during the summer of 2018/19 by by LCPL Brad Smart and LCPL Mathew Van Rees Hoets of the Australian Defence Force. The four areas of work are described below. Air quality and noise samples were conducted. The sampling was coordinated by Dr Barbara Frankel, Aron Gavin and Dr Alistair Reed and conducted by Brad Smart and Mathew Van Rees Hoets. At the end of the summer season and prior to the departure of Voyage 3, winter ‘long-term’ monitoring stations were established at four predetermined locations in the Vestfold Hills. This included setting up a semi-permanent mast at AQ1 (Davis) and AQ4 (near Brookes Hut) and installing the Air Quality Transmitter AQT400 sensor, CO2 monitor GMP252, the dataTracker DT80M Data Logger, external batteries and solar panels for each location, respectively. The above sensors/monitors were also set up on the pre-established Automatic Weather Station (AWS) at Adams Flat AWS and The Ridge AWS. A dust desposition gauge was setup on the AQ1 site at Davis, close to the Meteorology building. Stakes were set up at 'Camp Lake Valley' for ground monitoring and observations made. Geological drill holes and test-pits completed during the summer were surveyed. The sites were at 'Camp Lake Valley', 'Camp Knoll' Valley' (also known as 'East Valley') and Adams Flat. A set-out was completed for the proposed runway centreline alignment north-east of Davis. This was done to aid filming of the alignment. For each area of work a report is included with the data.
