The genome of the cephalochordate Branchiostoma lanceolatum was sequenced from the DNA of a single adult male specimen collected in Banyuls-sur-mer (France) using the illumina approach. The genome was assembled from two paired-end and 6 mate-pair libraries using SOAPdenovo and haplotypes were reconcilied using haplomerger. The genome was annotated using RNA-seq data from several stated and adult tissues.
