Tethered balloon-borne measurements of meteorological and aerosol microphysical properties during the Arctic melt season 2024, flight AIDA_BELUGA_20240603_15@en
As part of the AIDA campaign (Aerosol variability and interaction with ambient conditions based on small-scale vertical and horizontal distribution of Arctic measurements), vertical profiles of meteorological and aerosol particle properties were obtained using the tethered balloon system BELUGA (Balloon-bornE moduLar Utility for profilinG the lower Atmosphere). Measurements were carried out between 19 May and 7 June 2024 at the Arctic research station Ny-Ålesund. In total, 23 flights were conducted on 8 days, reaching altitudes of up to 1300 m. The observations provide detailed information on aerosol microphysics in the lower Arctic atmosphere and support model evaluation and development. The dataset includes measurements from the Turbulence Meteorological Probe (TMP) as well as two interchangeable aerosol instruments: the Cubic Aerosol Measurement Platform (CAMP) and the mSEMS Box (Miniaturized Scanning Electrical Mobility Sizer Box). The aerosol systems were mounted 10 m below the TMP on the tether line and provide aerosol particle number concentrations and particle number size distributions along the vertical profiles
本数据集隶属于AIDA研究计划(即基于北极小尺度垂直与水平分布观测的气溶胶变异性及其与环境条件的相互作用,Aerosol variability and interaction with ambient conditions based on small-scale vertical and horizontal distribution of Arctic measurements)。
