Seedling and Mother Dataset This dataset accompanies a kinship inference analysis using SNP data from multiple species (Acacia suaveolens, Acacia terminalis, Hakea sericea, Hakea teretifolia, Banksia aemula, and Banksia serrata), applying criteria adapted from Ramstetter et al. (2017). The files provided include SNP genotype matrices, metadata for each dataset, and kinship inference parameters used to assign relationship degrees based on kinship coefficients. 📁 Contents Filename Description KING_inference_parameters.xlsx Contains two sheets: (1) Kinship inference thresholds (degree vs. kin range), (2) criteria for identifying true positive relationship calls sp_to_analyse.tsv Table listing species and datasets used in the analysis kin_analysis_*_meta2.xlsx Metadata for samples in each species-dataset combination. Includes sample IDs, family IDs, maternal relationships, and site/location assignments Report_*_SNP_mapping_2.csv OneRow format SNP genotype files from DArT (Diversity Arrays Technology) containing biallelic SNPs for each sample Inference Criteria The kinship degree assignments are based on the kinship coefficient (kin), using thresholds derived from: Ramstetter, M. Benchmarking Relatedness Inference Methods with Genome-Wide Data from Thousands of Relatives. Genetics, 207(1), 75–82. https://doi.org/10.1534/genetics.117.1122 Sheet 1 in KING_inference_parameters.xlsx provides the mapping between kinship coefficient ranges and inferred degree (e.g., 1st-degree, 2nd-degree, etc.). Use Case These data have been used for testing and benchmarking kinship inference pipelines using real SNP genotype data. The metadata enables validation of inferred relationships by comparing to known maternal relationships and shared family identifiers.
