资源简介:
This dataset is part of the ACCESS-ESM1-5 contribution to the Southern Ocean freshening initiative project (SOFIA). In this project simulations are run with a consistent experimental design to allow quantification of the impact of missing Antarctic ice sheet/shelf meltwater on climate simulations across multiple models. This simulation is contributing to one of the objectives of the intercomparison: faf-antwater: applying a constant freshwater flux under piControl conditions This simulation, ensemble member r1i1p1f1, follows the FAFMIP defined experiment faf-antwater-stress, that applies a constant 0.1 Sv of freshwater input, uniformly distributed around the Antarctic coast, with all forcings held at 1850 levels, and starting from the piControl simulation (Gregory et al. 2016). However, we eliminate the wind-stress anomaly forcing from faf-antwater-stress, as this relates to a different question. Water is added to the surface, as for runoff. Water is distributed uniformly around Antarctica, in the grid-cell adjacent to the coast. Latent heat flux is not accounted for. Simulations are typically run for 100 years. Three ensemble members are run with different initial conditions. Ensemble member r1i1p1f1 branched from the piControl in year 701. References: Gregory, J. M., Bouttes, N., Griffies, S.
