Dataset on impact resistance of coelacanth scales-inspired fiber-reinforced composites

The CEAST 9350drop hammer impact machine was used in the experiment in this work. In order to achieve the impact energy of 8, 12, and 16J required for the impact test, the impactor whose mass was 5.41kg was freed at different heights to make it have corresponding impact speeds of 1.72 m s 1, 2.11m s 1, and 2.43m s 1. Because UL-BFRC failed on the first impact, only one impact test was carried out. The remaining samples were carried out 5 successive impact tests at the same position. The impact resistance of the laminate could be analyzed according to the contact force, impact displacement, and energy of the impactor during the impact.
