资源简介:
Seven samples from the fill of five intact hearths recovered in the access road at site
48FR5666 in central Wyoming were examined for pollen and macrofloral remains. Multiple
samples were recovered from a hearth with stratified fill. All of the hearths exhibited oxidation
rinds varying from 1 cm to 5 cm thick, as well as heavy amounts of charcoal and moderate to
heavy amounts of fire-cracked rock. Conventional radiocarbon ages from these features
ranged from 1770 ± 60 BP to 1140 ± 50 BP, suggesting multiple occupations ranging from the
latter part of the Late Archaic to the early Late Prehistoric. Pollen and macrofloral analyses are
used to provide information concerning plant resources utilized by the various occupants of this
site.
