资源简介:
This dataset supports the research article titled “Hydro-Climatic Variability and Its Implications on Soil and Water Security in Kenya’s Tana Delta.” It contains long-term hydro-climatic data, remote sensing indices, and socio-economic survey results used to analyze water security and livelihood impacts in the Tana Delta region. The dataset includes: Rainfall records (1993–2023): Monthly and annual rainfall data from meteorological stations. NDWI and NDVI trends (1995–2023): Satellite-derived vegetation and water indices showing spatiotemporal variability. Surface water trends (30 years): Hydrological analysis of river systems and wetlands. Household survey data: Perceptions of climate variability, water access, and livelihood impacts. Spatial layers: GIS shapefiles for water sources, land cover changes, and dominant livelihood zones. The data was collected through remote sensing analysis, field surveys, focus group discussions, and hydrological assessments to understand how climate change affects water availability and community resilience. This dataset can be used for further research on climate adaptation, soil and water security, and sustainable development in arid and semi-arid regions. Keywords: Climate change, Hydro-climatic variability, Water security, Soil security, Remote sensing, Tana Delta, Kenya, Livelihood vulnerability, NDWI, NDVI.
