Draft genome sequence of Scedosporium aurantiacum MUT 6114 (Ascomycota; Microascaceae): insights into safe biotechnological application.

The genus Scedosporium (Ascomycota, Microascales, Microascaceae) comprises species with mycoremediation potential. However, some Scedosporium species can be opportunistic human pathogens and present antifungal resistance. Scedosporium aurantiacum MUT 6114 (Mycotheca Universitatis Taurinensis, University of Turin, Italy) was isolated from industrial wastewater. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of S. aurantiacum MUT 6114 (Mb: 44.3, GC %: 50.43). The genome of MUT 6114 can shed light on biotransformation of recalcitrant pollutants in industrial wastewater. Moreover, the potential virulence genes of S. aurantiacum MUT 6114 have been investigated. Overall, the genome sequence of S. aurantiacum MUT 6114 can give insights into safe biotechnological applications.
