Physical and biogeochemical data of sea ice and seawater in the Dalton polynya during February and March of 2018 and 2020

During February and March of 2018 and 2020, seawater, newly formed thin sea ice and brash ice were collected at the Dalton polynya as a part of JARE59/61. Onboard, ice temperature of thin ice was recorded. Thin ice was cut to investigate the thickness and vertical textures (porportion of frazil ice layer). The rest of sea ice was melted to analyze salinity, chlorophyll a, biogenic sillica, nutrient concentration, composition/cell abundance of algae by microscopy, and stable isotopes of oxygen. At the newly formed ice-sampling stations, seawater was collected at 8 m depth. We also analyzed the composition/cell abundance (brash ice and seawater) and biogenic sillica concentration (seawater).
