Data for: The Tough, the Wet and the Hidden: Evolutionary Strategies of a Tropical Tree in a Changing Environment

This is the data set used in the study "The Tough, the Wet and the Hidden: Evolutionary Strategies of a Tropical Tree in a Changing Environment" (Zigelski et al.). We used the polymorphic species complex Syzygium guineense s.l. (Myrtaceae) to investigate the interrelations between genetic structure, spatial distances, phenotypic variation and environmental factors. Using STRUCTURE analysis of dominantly coded SSR data, and subsequent PCoA, PERMANOVA, PAM clustering, RLQ and fourth-corner analyses, we were able to identify multiple ecotypes that represent distinct evolutionary strategies to past environmental changes in South-Central Africa.本数据集源自研究论文《坚韧、湿润与隐匿：变化环境中热带树木的进化策略》（Zigelski等）。本研究以多态物种复合群广义几内亚蒲桃（Syzygium guineense s.l.，桃金娘科Myrtaceae）为研究对象，探究遗传结构、空间距离、表型变异与环境因子间的相互关联。通过对显性编码的简单序列重复（Simple Sequence Repeat, SSR）数据开展STRUCTURE分析，并依次辅以主坐标分析（Principal Coordinates Analysis, PCoA）、置换多元方差分析（Permutational Multivariate Analysis of Variance, PERMANOVA）、PAM聚类、RLQ分析以及四角落分析，我们成功鉴定出多个生态型，这些生态型代表了非洲中南部地区针对过往环境变化所演化出的差异化进化策略。
