Viola_vaginata_genome

Viola vaginata is a perennial herb of the Viola family, primarily distributed on the western side of Japan. In this study, we have sequenced the entire chloroplast genome of V. vaginata and characterized the genome structure of this species. The chloroplast genome sequence length was 156,056 bp, and showed a typical quadripartite structure with one large single-copy (LSC) region length of 86,408 bp, one small single-copy (SSC) region length of 17,301 bp, and two inverted repeat (IR)regions (IRa and IRb, 27,173 bp and 27,174bp). The chloroplast genome contains 114 genes, including 78 protein-coding genes, 32 transfer RNA genes, and 4 ribosomal RNA genes. The GC content of this genome is 42.2%.
