GWAS Analysis of Yunnan's Fall Armyworm Population

This study aims to investigate the genetic basis of trait variation in Spodoptera frugiperda (fall armyworm) populations from Yuanjiang, Yunnan Province, China, through genome-wide association analysis (GWAS). By analyzing 51 individual samples, this project seeks to identify genetic loci associated with migratory traits in this invasive pest, which threatens local agriculture. Understanding these genetic factors may provide insights into population structure, migration patterns, and potential resistance to control measures. The findings could support the development of targeted management strategies and contribute to broader ecological and evolutionary research on invasive pest species.
