Chesapeake Healthy Watersheds Assessment (CHWA) 2.0 Data

<p><b>Open the Data Resource:</b> <a href='https://gis-data.chesapeakebay.net/Healthy Watersheds Assessment/CHWA2.0_Distribution.zip' rel='nofollow ugc'>https://gis-data.chesapeakebay.net/Healthy Watersheds Assessment/CHWA2.0_Distribution.zip</a></p> <p>The Chesapeake Healthy Watersheds Assessment is intended to support the Chesapeake Bay Program and its jurisdictional partners by:</p> <ul> <li>Detecting signals of change in state-identified healthy watersheds</li> <li>Providing information to support strategies to protect and maintain watershed health</li> <li>Serving as an early warning to identify factors related to future degradation</li> <li>Identifying potentially vulnerable or resilient areas based on landscape, climate and other factors</li> <li>Serving as a source of data and information from which to base communication and management actions</li></ul> <p>Geographic units consist of catchments from the National Hydrography Dataset Plus Version 2 (NHDPlus) geospatial dataset developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Geological Survey. NHDPlus catchments associated with each of the state-identified healthy watersheds (as defined by jurisdictional Chesapeake Bay Program partners) were delineated so that catchment-specific data can be examined for these watersheds of interest, either individually or as a group. However, metrics were computed for all catchments across the entire Bay watershed, not only for those within healthy watersheds.</p> <p>This downloadable dataset complements an <a href='https://gis.chesapeakebay.net/chwa/' rel='nofollow ugc'>interactive map</a>.</p>
