CT images of a wing (left) of an adult female sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus) scanned with a Nikon XTEK XTH 225 kV µCT system (80 kV, 100 µA, 0.25 mm aluminium filter, 25 µm/voxel of resolution ) at the Henry Moseley X-ray Imaging Facility, University of Manchester. Before the scan, the wing was treated with an ~3% iodine-based formalin buffered solution for enhancing the contrast of soft tissue (Li et al., 2015).
