Data from: Empirical evidence challenges the conventional seed dispersal syndrome: insights from epizoochory in wild boar
收藏资源简介:
These data underlie all analyses in the associated manuscript. Seeds were recovered from the coats of 106 free-ranging wild boar (Sus scrofa) culled across three winter-coat seasons between November 2015 and April 2018 in Geochang County, Republic of Korea. Hair was clipped from the entire dorsal and lateral trunk of each carcass and germinable seeds were identified by the seedling emergence method, yielding 39,645 germinable seeds of which 39,474 were identified to 93 plant species. The archive contains a community matrix of seed counts per species per individual, individual-level metadata (collection date, winter phase, sex and body mass), and a species-level table giving family and diaspore-morphology type. A README and data dictionary documents all columns, the derived-measure rules and the steps needed to reproduce each table and figure in the paper. Files are restricted during peer review of the associated manuscript and will be made openly available upon acceptance.
