Administrative units This Administrative units dataset is in the scope of the EU Open Data Directive Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/138. Their geographical coverage includes single or multiple datasets covering the entire Member State when combined. The key attributes are Unique identifier; Unit type (administrative or maritime unit); Geometry; Boundary status; National identification code; Identification code of the upper administrative level; Official name; Country code; Name in multiple languages (only for countries with more than one official language) including a language with Latin characters, when feasible. Level Administrative level indicates levels of administration in the national administrative hierarchy, which is based on geometric aggregation of territories and does not necessarily describe the subordination between the related administrative authorities. https://inspire.ec.europa.eu/codelist/AdministrativeHierarchyLevel Geospatial thematic category of high-value data (HVD) The European Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/138 of 21 December 2022 lays down a list of specific high-value datasets and the arrangements for their publication and re-use through the EU Open Data Directive (i.e., the Implementation Act https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=celex%3A32023R0138). The Geospatial thematic category includes datasets within the scope of the INSPIRE data themes as defined in Annex I to Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council. HVD within scope of INSPIRE This layer implements streamlined INSPIRE data according to the INSPIRE rules for Alternative Encoding.
