Data package supporting manuscript "Widespread Heterogeneity in Density-Dependent Mortality of Nearshore Fishes"

This repository contains the complete data synthesis and analysis pipeline for a global meta-analysis on density-dependent mortality in reef fishes. We estimated mortality parameters (α and β) from >30 ecological studies and explored how ecological traits, experimental methods, and phylogenetic history explain variation in density dependence. It comprises five data tables and the zipped code folder to ensure transparent, end-to-end reproducibility of data processing, analysis, and visualization. This package supports the manuscript “Widespread Heterogeneity in Density-Dependent Mortality of Nearshore Fishes” by Stier & Osenberg ( Ecology Letters ).本代码仓库包含针对礁栖鱼类密度制约死亡率（density-dependent mortality）开展的全球荟萃分析（meta-analysis）所需的全套数据合成与分析流程。研究团队从30余项生态学研究中估算得到死亡率参数（α与β），并探究了生态特征、实验方法与系统发育历史（phylogenetic history）如何解释密度制约效应的变异。本数据集包含5张数据表与一个压缩代码文件夹，以确保数据处理、分析及可视化流程具备透明且端到端的可复现性。本数据集配套支持Stier与Osenberg发表于《生态学通讯（Ecology Letters）》的研究论文《近岸鱼类密度制约死亡率的普遍异质性（Widespread Heterogeneity in Density-Dependent Mortality of Nearshore Fishes）》。
