Report on Impacts of the Mobile Telephone on Emerging Markets ABSTRACT The mobile telephone have increasingly become a dominant service that is accessible to many people irrespective of their physical location. This report describes the impact of the mobile telephone on emerging markets. It was found that the mobile telephone have increasingly become a desired device that it has reached planetary levels of penetration. According to figures released in July 2012 by the World Bank, there are 6 billion mobile subscriptions worldwide and 77% of these are from developing nations. Overall, the mobile telephone impact positively on the economic and social welfare worldwide by generating Gross Domestic Purposes (GDP) and job opportunities, maximise productivity and taxation revenues. However, mobile telephones impact on other institutions and human domains such as non-government organisations, e-learning and preventative health as well as natural disaster emergencies. Finally, in the most simplicity form, it has been suggested that the mobile telephone is the most preferred means of distant communication because of its ease of use, flexibility, affordability and capability to reach out to rural and remote areas.
