资源简介:
This is the OBIS extraction of the Ocean Tracking Network and Acadia University (Acadia U) SPG Project: Coastal ecology of American Eels, consisting of the release tagging metadata, i.e. the location and date when the tagged animal was released, and summarized detection events of tagged individuals.
If readers are interested in the source dataset they may also inquire with the project PIs as listed here or on the OTN web site (https://members.oceantrack.org/project?ccode=EELSPG).Abstract:Acoustic receivers will be moored at coastal locations around Minas Basin and within adjoining river systems. Thirty American eels (Anguilla rostrata) will be captured, surgically implanted with acoustic tags, and released in Minas Basin near Hantsport, NS. Acoustic tags will be used to monitor their coastal movement and potentially their migration into the Sargasso Sea. This research is part of a collaborative project between Mi’kmaw, fishers, academia, community partners and government. Data and results will be used to enhance co-management approaches and strategies for marine resources in local regions and to enable better stewardship for these resources.
