COVIDcast (COVID-19) Epidemiological Data | CMU

**Overview**

This resource contains an archived collection of datasets from Carnegie Mellon University Delphi Research Group's COVID-19 Surveillance Streams Data (COVIDcast).

Delphi's COVIDcast datasets are based on a variety of data sources including a CMU-run Facebook health survey, a Google-run health survey, lab test results provided by Quidel Inc, search data released by Google Health Trends, and outpatient doctor visits provided by a national health system.

- **Description:** Estimated percentage of people who wore a mask for most or all of the time while in public in the past 7 days; those not in public in the past 7 days are not counted.

- **Description:** Estimated percentage of respondents who either have already received a COVID vaccine or have an appointment to get a COVID vaccine or would definitely or probably choose to get vaccinated, if a vaccine were offered to them today.

The data in this product comes from the following data sources:

**Delphi Research Group - COVID-19 Trends and Impact Survey**

Per the Delphi Research Group, this data source is based on the COVID-19 Trends and Impact Survey (CTIS) run by the Delphi group at Carnegie Mellon. Facebook directed a random sample of its users to these surveys, which were voluntary. Users age 18 or older were eligible to complete the surveys, and their survey responses are held by CMU and are sharable with other health researchers under a data use agreement.

**Delphi Research Group - Google Symptoms**

Per the Delphi Research Group, this data source is based on the COVID-19 Search Trends symptoms dataset. Using this search data, they estimate the volume of searches mapped to symptom sets related to COVID-19.

**Delphi Research Group - Department of Health & Human Services**

Per the Delphi Research Group, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) publishes datasets on patient impact and hospital capacity. This table uses the COVID-19 Hospitalization: States - daily resolution, state aggregates dataset, which contains dozens of columns that break down hospital resource usage in different ways.
