SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF BUSINESS AND UNDERCITIZENSHIP GUIDELINES FOR A REFLECTION BASED ON THE CONSTITUTION

The modern business activity was born under the auspices of the exercise of private autonomy to the satisfaction of the interests of holders of the means of production. This is its meaning in the liberal State. In a democratic welfare State, which gains special semblance, in Brazil, with the 1988 Constitution, the function and meaning of the business should be resized, especially when you take into account the fact that the Brazilian society to be counted among the peripheral societies, with low levels of human development and marked by striking social inequalities. So this reflection aims to raise some guidelines for a reflection on the social responsibility of business, with reference to the board axiological fixed by the constitutional principles. This is not a conclusive text, but rather a reflection that raises questions about the social role of business in a peripheral country that signed in the Constitution the goal: to build a just and solidarity society.
