performance analysis for ISAC systems

We characterize the fundamental trade-off between angular resolution limits for sensing and achievable communication rates. To this end, the explicit expressions for user achievable rate and angular resolution limits of the sensing zones are derived, enabling critical analysis of MIMO-ISAC operational characteristics. Based on these analytical results, a power allocation problem is formulated as a total transmit power minimization, while guaranteeing the requirements for both sensing and communication to assess the performance trade-off between sensing and communication functionalities. Extensive numerical results validate the accuracy of our theoretical analysis and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed power allocation scheme in balancing angular resolution limits and achievable communication rates
