An A.juni phage that infects an opportunistic bacterial pathogen, Acinetobacter junii

The study describes an A.juni phage that infects an emerging, opportunistic human and animal pathogen named Acinetobacter junii. It is a temperate, narrow host range, dsDNA, tailed phage with a genome length of 45,038 bp, that belongs to the class Caudoviricetes. The phage thus isolated and characterized could serve as a precedence for generating a library to pre-empt the imminent infections of antibiotic-resistant Acinetobacter junii strains.
