Very few letters received for the above period have survived. The majority of letters received were from: the Auditor General (regulations for payments of expenses to witnesses and jurors at Supreme Court sittings, statements of expenditure of the Judicial Department); the Director of Public Works (minor construction, installation of furniture); the Colonial Architect (minor building repairs); the Superintendent, Hyde Park Barracks (convicts to be employed in the Supreme Court Establishment); the Chief Justice (notifications of staff appointments and resignations); and private persons (tenders for supply of office requirements, petitioning for expenses involved in attending Supreme Court sittings).
