Hexokinase mediate kiwifruit postharvest softening

Hexokinase (HXK) is an important hexose phosphorylation enzyme with dual functions in fruit senescence and quality regulation. However, the regulate mechanisms underlying HXK-medicated postharvest softening in kiwifruit have not been investigated. Here, the HXK inhibitor, D(+)-Glucosamine hydrochloride (GAH), was used to delay kiwifruit postharvest softening, and the putative genes involved hexokinase-mediated postharvest softening were unraveled through transcriptome analysis.
