This dataset is developed by collecting and analyzing facial cleanser consumption-related data of customers across diverse regions, to investigate customers' purchasing power and consumption preferences for facial cleansers, and thereby assess the market popularity of the product. The derived insights can support all enterprises in the industry in formulating evidence-based production strategies, delivering personalized products and services to users, and devising more accurate production and marketing strategies: specifically, high-tier customers should be contacted 1 to 2 times per month, medium-tier customers 1 to 2 times per quarter, and low-tier customers 1 to 2 times every six months.
The dataset construction process includes four core steps:
1. Data Collection: Collect transaction data related to facial cleanser purchases from all customers across all recorded years.
2. Data Processing: Classify, merge, and aggregate the collected data to facilitate subsequent analytical work.
3. Algorithm Processing: Conduct demand analysis on the processed data, with the demand index P calculated as: $P = left(frac{a_1}{b_1} + frac{a_2}{b_2}
ight) * k$. Here, $a_1$ refers to the minimum order quantity per single transaction, $b_1$ refers to the minimum consumption amount per single transaction, $a_2$ refers to the maximum order quantity per single transaction, $b_2$ refers to the maximum consumption amount per single transaction, and $k$ is the consumption coefficient. The value of $k$ varies by economic region: the country is divided into four major economic regions, namely the Eastern Region, Northeast Region, Central Region, and Western Region. Based on empirical values, the $k$ value for the Eastern Region is 1.1, 1.15 for both the Northeast and Central Regions, and 1.2 for the Western Region.
4. Data Classification and Grading: Divide customers into "high", "medium", and "low" tiers based on the calculated demand index $P$: customers with a score of 200 or above are marked as "high-tier", those with a score within the range of 150 to 200 as "medium-tier", and those with a score of 150 or below as "low-tier", to help enterprises better understand their customer groups.
