Exploring Nitrate Reducing Bacteria from anaerobic microcosm

Selective enrichment of nitrate-reducing bacteria (NRB) from anaerobic co-digestion systems with dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonium (DNRA) activity can enhance nitrate removal and organic matter degradation in various water treatment setups. To evaluate enrichment success, 16S rRNA metagenomic sequencing was performed to determine the presence and abundance of NRB.
