ISCCP IR-Only Cloud Regimes

This dataset provides the cloud regimes constructed using the cloud top pressure histograms from the International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project D1 Dataset. The compressed tarball IRregimes.tgz (~250 MB) contains all the files for the individual years (1983 to 2008) in netCDF format. The files for 2006 and 2007 are also provided separately for a sample of the dataset (~100 MB each).

Unlike the original cloud regimes, these 'IR-Only' cloud regimes are defined at every three-hour intervals even at night. This dataset has a spatial coverage from 35°S to 35°N over all longitudes. The netCDF files also contain the original cloud regimes at sunlit points. Note that cloud regimes are also known as weather states.
