This dataset represents the integrated output of the Italian National Tide Gauge Network (RMN). It serves as the primary source for sea-level and meteo-marine monitoring along the Italian coastlines, providing essential data for tidal studies, port navigation, and early warning systems for coastal flooding and tsunami risks.
Near Real-Time (NRT) Raw Data are transmitted from the tide gauge stations via UMTS/satellite links at regular intervals. These records are intended for immediate operational and monitoring purposes and have undergone automated quality control (QC) procedures only.
Data are collected via a network of fixed stations equipped with radar water level sensors, integrated with meteorological instrumentation. Parameters include sea level (tide), atmospheric pressure, air temperature, wind speed and direction, and relative humidity.
