De Novo Transcritpome Assembly of the Root tissue of Lantana camara

Medicinal plants play a key role in human life since time immemorial. They contain important bioactive compounds that can be used for the treatment of various ailments and to create important drugs. Lantana camara is an important medicinal plant with several therapeutic potentials. Previously we have sequenced Lantana camara leaf transcriptome and identified a bunch of genes involved in the phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathway . In the current study, we take root transcriptome for further consideration, which will help as a baseline for further molecular studies in the area of medicinal plants.
