We examined the comprehensive responses of plant growth, soil biochemical properties, and the soil resident bacterial community to periodic PGPR inoculation (four times with the interval of 45 days) throughout a growing season. A pot experiment was carried out using single, dual, or mixed application of phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) and N2-fixing bacteria (NFB). Plants and soil were sampled at 10, 30, 45, 90, 135, and 180 days after the first inoculation to assess plant growth, soil nutrient properties and bacterial community composition.
