Whole genome sequencing and analysis of a Mycoplasma gallinaceum strain that caused the death of chicken embryos

Mycoplasma gallinaceum in poultry is a non-pathogenic mycoplasma, and its main hosts are chickens. This study conducted isolation and identification, pathogenicity research and drug sensitivity research on a chicken-derived mycoplasma of poultry. Given that this strain has the ability to kill chicken embryos and is significantly different from previous studies, a full sequence sequencing analysis of this strain was carried out to gain a deeper understanding of the biological characteristics of Mycoplasma of poultry and enrich the genomic database of Mycoplasma of poultry. It lays a fundamental basis for the future research on the pathogenic mechanism of isolates, virulence related genes, drug resistance genes, etc.
