Project Proposal Story Map

Introduction For my the project, I am interested in the theme of environmental mixed with helping people. I aim to use GIS to help my community with issues that can improve their daily lives from the science used. In my career path, I am concentrated on environmental justice, social equity, and non-profits. I am also interested in informing policies and doing mutual aid for disenfranchised communities. My project proposal topic would be to asses the distribution of flood risk zones in Fulton County, Atlanta, Georgia. I would recognize homes that are within a 100-year floodplain in Fulton County, Atlanta. I would like to make a map about local food risks while creating possible prevention of property damage and displacement. People deserve to know the land they are living on, and GIS can be utilized to anaylze the specific areas at risk of floods.
