The role of financial institutions in the green energy transition: International Panel Study 1960 - 2017

Detecting the impact and role of financial institutions in each country/region on their renewable or green energy transition is the main research objective of this paper. For this purpose, the study uses a global sample of 214 countries/regions for the period 1960 to 2017. The list of selected countries/regions can be found in Appendix Table A1. The data availability of the global sample results that this is an unbalanced panel dataset. In addition, we categorize the 214 country/region sample into three groups according to the World Bank’s country income level classification, namely high-income countries/regions, upper-middle income countries/regions, and low and lower-middle income countries/regions.本文的核心研究目标为探明全球各国家/地区的金融机构在其可再生能源或绿色能源转型进程中的作用与影响。为此，本研究选取1960年至2017年期间的全球214个国家/地区作为研究样本。所选国家/地区的完整列表详见附录表A1。受全球样本的数据可得性制约，本数据集属于非平衡面板数据集（unbalanced panel dataset）。此外，本研究依据世界银行（World Bank）的国家收入水平分类标准，将214个国家/地区的研究样本划分为三组：高收入国家/地区、中高收入国家/地区，以及低收入与中低收入国家/地区。
