The impact of the LINC complex on chromatin configuration and gene expression in neurons

The LINC complex on the nuclear envelope physically connects nuclear components to the cytoskeleton and plays a pivotal role in various cellular processes. The LINC complex mediates the mechanical forces exerted by the cytoskeleton on the nucleus and has a significant effect on nuclear structure. The aim of this project is to determine the impact of LINC complex-mediated maintenance of nuclear structural integrity on gene expression in mature neurons. To achieve this goal, chromatin and RNA sequencing analyses were performed on cortical neurons from young and aged mice in which the function or expression of the LINC complex has been manipulated.
