Anaerobic methane oxidation rates were measured directly via 14C-labelled methane. Sulphate reduction rates measured by radiolabelled 35S-tracer indicate the overall rate of sulphate reduction, whereas the SRR in incubations without CH4 added indicates the rate of organoclastic sulphate reduction. No other substrate than CH4 was added.
