Grain properties of rock fragments from shelf bottom sediments of the Sea of Okhotsk

Grain size, shape and roundness of rock fragments, texture, composition of bottom sediments from the Sea of Okhotsk are under study. These data are compared with parameters of modern lithodynamic conditions of the sea and genetic types of deposits are identified. These criteria are used for partition of Holocene and Upper Pleistocene sediment series and for identifying conditions of their formation. Dependence of structure of different genetic types of deposits on intensity of hydrodynamic processes, of terrigenous contribution, and on direction consedimentational tectonic movements is under consideration.本研究针对鄂霍次克海（Sea of Okhotsk）海底沉积物的岩屑粒径、形态与圆度、结构及组分开展研究。将所得数据与该海域现代沉积动力环境参数进行对比，进而识别沉积物的成因类型。以此类判别准则划分全新世（Holocene）与晚更新世（Upper Pleistocene）沉积序列，并反推其形成环境条件。本研究同时探讨不同成因类型沉积物的结构与水动力作用强度、陆源物质补给量及同沉积构造运动方向之间的依存关系。
