Synthesis and Reactivity of a Phosphite−Boryl Complex of Molybdenum: Formation of (η⁵-C₅Me₅)Mo(CO)₃(BH₂·phosphite) and Its Mo−B, B−P, and B−H Bond Reactions

The photoreaction of Cp*Mo(CO)3Me in the presence of BH3·P(OMe)(NMeCH2)2 produced the phosphite−boryl Mo complex Cp*Mo(CO)3{BH2·P(OMe)(NMeCH2)2}. The complex reacts with MeI and PMe3 with Mo−B and B−P bond cleavage, respectively, and is gradually converted in solution into Cp*Mo(CO)2(H){P(OMe)(NMeCH2)2} with B−H bond cleavage.
