These volumes contain daily records of ships inspected showing: date, rig, name of ship, port of registry, nett registered tonnage, length, breadth, and depth of vessel, freeboard, draught forward and aft, position of plimsoll mark, density, remarks (which note defects and sometimes the movement of the ship), and the inspector's name. Volume 34/2965 includes a record of vessels lost or missing. 8 Oct 1877-27 Jul 1881 (34/2962), 6 Mar 1899-31 Oct 1931 (34/2963-75). 14 vols.
