PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxidized cellulose nanofiber that exhibits excellent viscosity retention even in the case when agitation treatment is performed in mixing with the counterpart to which thickening function is imparted. SOLUTION: The oxidized cellulose nanofiber has a retention of a viscosity as measured immediately after agitating an aqueous oxidized cellulose nanofiber dispersion for 30 minutes by using a disperser at a rotation number of 1，000 rpm of 50% or more based on a viscosity as measured immediately after subjecting an aqueous oxidized cellulose nanofiber dispersion to concentration adjustment.
