This dataset is stored in Excel format and contains 32 worksheets, comprehensively documenting the basic conditions of Tibet's water systems and relevant data of the Yarlung Zangbo River Basin. The data includes statistics such as the composition of major crops in Tibet in 1977, a list of major rivers, information on rural hydropower stations, current irrigation status, as well as the length, catchment area, precipitation distribution and other related metrics of the Yarlung Zangbo River and its tributaries. Meanwhile, the dataset also covers statistics on population, cultivated land and livestock within the basin, plus analyses of annual average flow, peak flow, runoff depth, water level characteristics and other indicators from multiple hydrological stations. In addition, relevant data concerning the hydrochemical characteristics of the Yarlung Zangbo River and its natural hydropower potential are also incorporated. This dataset is the digital collation outcome of the data from the first Qinghai-Tibet Scientific Expedition, intended to provide basic data support for geographical and hydrological research.
