Chromosome-level genome assembly and annotation of the kuruma shrimp (Marsupenaeus japonicus)

Using PacBio and Hi-C sequencing technology, we assembled a new chromosome-level genome of the kuruma shrimp (Marsupenaeus japonicus), with a total size of 1.64 Gb and scaffold N50 length of 40 613 942 bp. Furthermore, we assembled the 2 381 scaffolds into 43 chromosomes with 1 603 178 927 bp, accounting for 97.83% of the total length. A total of 21 172 protein-coding genes were predicted in the assembled genome, and 83.2% of them were functionally annotated.
