Soils

This layer represents soil taxonomic orders within the City of Oakland Park, Florida. The data were derived from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Soil Survey Geographic (SSURGO) Database using the gridded SSURGO (gSSURGO) geodatabase. Soil map unit polygons were joined to the dominant soil component and generalized by soil taxonomic order (Entisols, Histosols, Inceptisols, and Spodosols). The dataset was clipped to the City of Oakland Park boundary and is intended for planning, visualization, and general reference purposes.
