This study aims to investigate the genetic basis of synchronous flashing behavior in Pteroptyx tener males by analyzing transcriptomic differences between sexes and periods (daytime or nighttime). RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) was conducted on ten adult male and female specimens (whole-body) collected during the day and at night using the Illumina sequencing platform. This enables the identification of differentially expressed genes potentially involved in flashing behaviour and other relevant biological processes. The data is available as raw reads.
