In order to meet both the tourist requirements and the interests of all other users and, last but not least, the landowners, the project “Forsten und Tourismus” was launched in 2004 in cooperation with the Regionalverbund Thüringer Wald e.V. and the Thuringian Forest Nature Park. The aim is to bring together the interests of the region — from landowners to agriculture and forestry to road and road construction and gastronomy — in a broad consensus. The aim is to create the basis for the management of local recreation tourism and the sustainable development of tourism infrastructure.
