Supplementary material for the poster Tracing the origins and development of early husbandry practices in Neolithic north-central Italy (Matteo Cianfoni), presented at the CNR-ISPC Conference 2026 (26–28 May 2026, Naples). A description of the files is provided below. NISP.csv contains the raw data used for the bar chart showing the proportion of domestic and wild taxa in the Neolithic sites investigated within the PhD project (Fiorano, Ponte Ghiara, Pescale, Benefizio, Le Mose) and in the comparative assemblages (see References.docx for bibliographic references). NISP refers to the Number of Identified Specimens. Antler remains were excluded from cervid counts. Only cattle, pigs, and caprines were included in the domestic category. Specimens identified only at genus level (e.g. Sus sp. or Bos sp.) were excluded from the calculations. The dataset includes chronological attribution, site name, bibliographic reference for the faunal assemblage, quantitative data on domestic and wild taxa, and the total number of identified specimens. Within the wild fauna category, “Large Game” includes aurochs, bear, red deer, roe deer, wild boar, and wolf, while “Small Game” includes badger, hare, fox, wildcat, beaver, otter, mustelids, hedgehog, dormouse, turtle, and birds. Measures_pig.csv contains measurements of the lateral (GLl) and medial (GLm) lengths of suid astragali from Neolithic contexts (see References.docx for bibliographic references) used in the scatterplot. In the graph, all specimens are treated as Sus sp. because of the strong metric overlap between domestic pigs and wild boar in Neolithic assemblages. The original taxonomic determinations provided by the authors are nevertheless retained in the raw data table. Dates were calibrated using the IntCal20 calibration curve and are displayed as ridgeline probability distributions by site. The plot allows the chronological position of the analysed assemblages to be compared within the broader Neolithic sequence.
